“Joseph’s Coat” rose over the Maritimes

May 2006

While in prayer for the Maritimes & the start of MHOP, as my director, Jill Weber, was attending its opening:

I had a vivid vision of several “rambling” roses growing vigorously over stonewalls, over fences, over trellis type structures and finally up into a mature Maple tree.  I then saw the climbing rose called “Joseph’s Coat”…each of its blooms changed color from yellow to orange to pink and red in its cycle.  (This is the nature of this rose to do.)

Rapid revelation followed and I could feel great passion on the Lord’s heart and sensed Him say:

As the rose is a symbol of love, of weddings, of bridal intimacy so is this “rose” in the spirit of what I am doing in the Maritimes.

Even as June approaches as a season o weddings, a season of intimacy with the Heavenly Bridegroom will bloom in the east.

Many, many gatherings of prayer, many circles of prayer will bud and grow in this region.

And there shall come a time of “showers” where I will bless, equip and furnish My Bride for our Houses of Prayer.  There shall be supply, there shall be gifts brought and spiritual gifts stirring and emerging as I prepare for the next level of intimate authority.

And though there may have been some starts in prayer, it may seem as none has taken enough root to bear the lasting fruit, but know there is a “rose” that suits this spiritual climate says the Lord.

Ones of hardiness, ones with vigor shall you be in My sight as the spirit of prayer takes root in your ground.

I speak a spirit of aggression into you, forceful in the spirit shall you be in the way you take over with the Kingdom, but not by the arm of the flesh, not by your own might or strength but by My Spirit within flowing out of our intimate bond shall the fruit come to bear.

And though you shall be aggressive in growth, it will be for Beauty that you shall be known.  And a sweet fragrance shall rise from the east that permeates the atmosphere with life and releases the pleasure of the Lord.

And so an overcoming shall spring out from the growing prayer movement in the Maritimes, even of stubborn and immovable things that have persisted in the spiritual realm.

The rambling rose of prayer shall overwhelm the fences (offences) of division and the spirit of disunity with My Body, shall overwhelm the stony and walled hearts, shall overcome man-made structures and shall be vital to the nation in its vitality.  Yes, you shall be a certain strength to Canada!

And the evil spirit that has caused the people to roam, to be distracted from the higher life, to wander away from truth, to go here and there aimless in purpose of direction, as you turn to Me in focus with the eyes of a dove, as you learn to even more deeply abide, as you receive My purposes and directions in this hour, so shall this spirit be overcome.  NOW, there is a fresh release of great favor, as Joseph was mantled by his father with a coat of many colors, so are you being mantled with favor and distinction.

The “Joseph’s Coat” rose turns from yellow, to orange, to pink to red and so shall you go.

The Holy Spirit shall take you as in cycles from seasons of light and revelation into the fire of God where both purity and passion shall consume.  Then into a deepening intimacy and Song of Solomon experience with the Rose of Sharon, your Messiah.  You shall then enter another dimension of knowing the sacrifice of love of Christ for you and your desire for Him shall produce a heart of sacrifice to please Him more.  And you shall usher His Kingdom into the land.  Surely, the time of going higher, deeper, wider is upon you, says the Lord.

The Lord recently impressed upon me the vulnerability of the rose.  It is prone to disease, to the destruction of insects and to particular growth conditions.  This means the glory and beauty of the rose is solely dependant upon the expertise of the Gardener!

REVELATION 12:1-4 (NIV)

1. A GREAT AND WONDROUS SIGN APPEARED IN HEAVEN: A WOMAN CLOTHED WITH THE SUN, WITH THE MOON UNDER HER FEET AND CROWN OF TWELVE STARS ON HER HEAD.

2. SHE WAS PREGNANT AND CRIED OUT IN PAIN AS SHE WAS ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH.

3. THEN ANOTHER SIGN APPEARED IN HEAVEN: AN ENORMOUS RED DRAGON WITH SEVEN HEADS AND TEN HORNS AND SEVEN CROWNS ON HIS HEADS.

4. HIS TAIL SWEPT A THIRD OF THE STARS OUT OF THE SKY AND FLUNG THEM TO THE EARTH. THE DRAGON STOOD IN FRONT OF THE WOMAN WHO WAS ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH, SO THAT HE MIGHT DEVOUR HER CHILD THE MOMENT IT WAS BORN.

We were driving toward Moncton to participate in the first 24hour period of prayer for that area. The sun was setting and as we approached the border we saw in the sky a cloud formation that clearly looked like a dragon! The head appeared to be spewing fire at the sun! It's interesting that we saw this "sign" at the border of N.S., N.B. and the exit road to P.E.I.; God was saying something! The Maritime House of Prayer is in the infant stages. It is only beginning to form and is yet to take on shape and personality... We felt God was directing us to pray against the dragon devouring this child!

REVELATION 12:7

7. AND THERE WAS WAR IN HEAVEN.  MICHAEL AND HIS ANGELS FOUGHT AGAINST THE DRAGON AND THE DRAGON AND HIS ANGELS FOUGHT BACK.

It is a fight!  There is a “war in Heaven” and we must battle for our families, our communities our cities and our region in prayer.  History dictates people joining together in times of war and we, as the body, must link arms together in the Maritimes to battle in prayer for our loved ones and our communities.  God has a plan to bring unity and to be lifted high.  He has a plan for us to “overcome”.

REVELATION 12:11

11. THEY OVERCAME HIM BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB AND BY THE WORD OF THEIR TESTIMONY; THEY DID NOT LOVE THEIR LIVES SO MUCH AS TO SHRINK FROM DEATH.

We experienced the “warfare” but we also experienced the presence and favor of God as we partnered with Him to pray for Moncton, the Maritimes and our nation!  We “overcame” the temptation to distractions because we were aware of the battle and God helped u sto “focus” on the Throne Room and make petitions on behalf of His purposes!

Our prayer:

“Lord, be glorified in the Maritimes, the region that you have given us authority over in the heavenly’s.  Join us together in prayer to battle for our families and communities!  Make us an awesome army to gather the harvest!  We know the time is “NOW!”  Work out your purposes for the Maritimes.

In Jesus Name, Amen!”

Called to Be a Food Court—Thoughts on Unity

Unity is defined as, “the quality or state of not being multiple; a condition of harmony, accord; the quality or state of being made one.” Merriam-Webster, Online

Over the past six months, I’ve encountered several situations that have caused me to ponder the level of competition within the body of Christ.  Competition is defined as, “the effort of two or more parties acting independently to secure the business of a third party by offering the most favourable terms; active demand by two or more organisms or kinds of organisms for some kind of environmental resource in short supply.” Merriam-Webster, Online

So here’s what I sense God saying to me—competition is the antithesis of unity.  And to take this one step further, I believe the key to unity is Phillippians 4:19, “But my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (KJV)   When we trust in the provision of God, there is no need for competition.

When we as believers feel lack in an area of our lives or ministries, we have a choice to trust in God or ourselves.  It is out of that lack that we can slip into competition mode.  Unity is motivated by our trust in the Lord.  It is through our confidence in the Lord that we can prefer one another because we know our Father has good gifts for each one of us.

Characteristics of :

Competition                                                               Unity

Overpower one another…………………………      Prefer one another

Making a name for oneself and/or ministry  Exalting the name of Jesus

Laying up treasure on earth……………………    Storing up treasure in Heaven

Fixing your eyes on competitors………………   Fixing your eyes on Jesus

Garnering favour with man………………………   God bestows blessing

Looking for personal commendation…………  Having all in common

Planning/ Programming (Martha)………………  Sitting at the feet of Jesus(Mary)

In Luke 10:2, Jesus said, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (NIV)

The harvest is plentiful!  The harvest is plentiful!  The harvest is plentiful!  Where is the need for competition?  I don’t want to work for myself and gather a little pile of wheat and say, “Here’s my pile, isn’t it wonderful.”  My desire is to work side by side with fellow workers as we serve the Lord of the Harvest and pile the wheat together.

Psalm 133 says, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!  It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard:  that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion:  for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.” (KJV)

In Exodus 30:22-32, the anointing of Aaron and his sons is recounted.  The oil was to consecrate them to holiness.  If, as it states in Psalm 133, unity is like that anointing, then it is in the place of unity that the body of Christ is also consecrated to holiness.

Just think of it—unity is the place where the Lord has commanded a blessing.  In Acts 2, when the Holy Spirit fell at Pentecost, “All the believers were together and had everything in common.” (NIV)  It was in that place of unity that wonders, miracles, and salvations abounded.  Sounds like loads of blessings!

Can we think about the church as a whole, as all of the body of believers being together, rather than our own buildings, ministries, budgets, and programs?  Can we trust the Lord of the Harvest to meet our needs so that we are free from competition?

I always joke that I know the cities of Halifax and Dartmouth by the fastest ways to the larger shopping centres.  But believe it or not, it is in this environment where we presume competition that food vendors band together with an understanding of unity.  You guessed it, The Food Court!  The Food Court counts on hungry people.  The Food Court knows that people have different needs.  The Food Court knows that the “harvest” is plentiful and that in any given day there will be an opportunity for each one of them to have an opportunity to meet the needs of the hungry.  At the food court, the hungry share tables with no walls or divisions to define the territory of each vendor.  Now I don’t know if the vendors of the food court rejoice in one another’s blessings but as the body of Christ we are to rejoice with one another.

Let’s be workers together.  Let’s not exalt ourselves, or one another.  Let’s exalt the name of Jesus.  Philippians 2:9-11 states, “Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (NIV)

Jesus prayed in John 17:20-21, “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me because of their testimony.  My prayer for all of them is that they will be one, just as you and I are one, Father-that just as you are in me and I am in you, so they will be in us, and the world will believe you sent me.” (NLT)

Jesus prayed for the unity of all believers because it would be a testimony to the world that the Father had sent Him.  Oh Lord, make us one…

I gathered with the "Watchmen" at "Consumed".....I gathered with the "Watchmen"....

In our Nation there has been repentance and reconciliation amongst people groups! As a result, in our Nation there is a group of people in unity with like-minds and hearts! There is a group of people "longing for Jesus!" And other Nations are linking arms and the "Body" is growing strong!

As I walked into the "gathering" I was overwhelmed by the love of God! Then, I saw seas of people waiting and praising together and the schofar was announcing the presence of the King! I felt I was a part of this body, my heart instanly knitted together with a group of people I didn't know "after the flesh" but "after the spirit" and we all "longed for the Glory of the Lord!"

I watched as God motivated creative praises through the "arts".... some painted, some sculpted, many danced and the children joined in and twirled and skipped and ran! There were so many colors and banners and flags and expressions and it was Glorious! Jesus was Glorious!! And there was unity.....

Children released...

Adults unleashed...

No turning back!
